Questa è la prima domanda della Prova di literacy “Regolamento della scuola materna”. Lo stimolo per questa prima domanda è un elenco di regole destinate ai genitori di alunni della scuola materna. Questa domanda è stata progettata per essere di bassa difficoltà. La difficoltà degli item di questa unità è basata su una stima perché questa unità non è stata testata nell’indagine pilota né nell’indagine principale del ciclo 2 di PIAAC. Il processo cognitivo misurato da questo item è l'”Accesso al testo”, perché una semplice scansione del testo per trovare informazioni sull'orario può facilmente portare il lettore alla prima regola (“Portate qui vostro figlio entro le 9:00”). Una volta individuata la regola appropriata, il rispondente deve selezionarla. In questa domanda è richiesto anche il processo cognitivo “Comprendere”, perché nell’elenco è presente anche un'altra regola che fa riferimento a un orario (la quinta regola: La colazione verrà servita intorno alle 7:30). Il lettore deve “Comprendere” che la prima regola è la risposta alla domanda, ma il principale processo cognitivo è la ricerca e la scansione del testo alla ricerca di informazioni, o “Accesso al testo” appunto.

How to Answer

	Tap on a sentence: Note that you can select more than one sentence. Tap on any part of a sentence. The entire sentence will highlight. To change the answer, tap again on any sentence you have selected. The highlighting will erase.
	Tap on a table Tap on a cell. The circle will be filled. To change the answer, tap on a different cell.
	Tap on other information Follow the directions on the exercise screen. Tap on the information – for example part of a graph, chart, table or form – and that part will highlight. To change the answer, tap again on any information you have selected. The highlight will erase.
	Highlight one or more words or sentences: Note that you can highlight more than one selection on the screen. Move the stylus across the text you want to highlight. To change the answer, tap on any highlighted word or sentence with the stylus. The highlighting will erase.
	Use the keypad To answer Tap on the answer box and the keypad will display. Tap on one or more numbers on the keypad. Note that you can also tap on the symbols to enter a decimal point, fraction slash, or negative sign. Tap on OK when you are finished. To change the answer Tap on the answer box again. Erase part or all of your answer using the backspace key. Enter a new answer. Tap on OK.
	Drag and drop Touch and hold a choice. Drag the choice to a new location and drop it in an empty box. To change the answer, drag the choice back near its starting location and it will drop back into place.
