TRAINING, INAPP – SUCCESSFUL EXPERIENCES IN USING INNOVATIVE METHODS FOR CORPORATE TRAINING: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND AUGMENTED REALITY
Cutting-edge companies are adopting immersive simulations to design dynamic, tailored, and engaging training programmes. Tools such as e-learning platforms, gamification, and microlearning modules offer scalable solutions adaptable to employees’ specific needs, fostering lifelong learning.
Rome, 12 December 2024 – At the conference “The New Era of Learning: Modern Approaches and Personalised Methods”, organised today by the Italian National Institute for Public Policy Analysis (INAPP), the results of the research “Innovative Training Methods for Lifelong Learning” were presented. The study focused on analysing innovative tools and models for lifelong learning, aiming to identify teaching methodologies and operational tools to enhance skills for both adults and businesses. It also explored the relationship between individual and corporate needs, promoting lifelong learning as a fundamental value.
The qualitative research project was conducted through interviews with over 60 key stakeholders, selected for their significant contributions to the training sector. Interviewees included representatives from medium and large companies, training and organisational consulting firms, and learning experts.
Among the most innovative practices highlighted in the report was the introduction of tools and methods for Immersive Learning Experiences (ILE). These training experiences leverage virtual world simulations, immersive interactions, gamification, and advanced technologies to create highly engaging environments. This approach enables participants to develop skills and mindsets more effectively, significantly enhancing learning outcomes compared to traditional methods.
Innovative use of experiential learning platforms was also noted, where techniques such as parallax scrolling to create interactive pages rich in animations are combined with gamified training approaches. These are employed to capture users’ attention and guide them through personalised narrative paths. The integration of such interactive tools has proven to optimise training outcomes by effectively balancing digital and in-person learning.
Furthermore, leading companies are forming training networks involving academic institutions, research bodies, and tech startups. The research report highlights that targeted training programmes already focus on essential skills such as active listening, conflict management, and building authentic connections. This multidimensional approach not only drives innovation but also fosters a virtuous cycle of co-creation and knowledge sharing.
“Organisations investing in innovative, inclusive training methods rooted in shared values and transparency will be better equipped to navigate a rapidly evolving world,” said Natale Forlani, President of INAPP. “The use of virtual reality, augmented reality, and artificial intelligence represents the cutting edge of corporate training. The challenge lies in striking the right balance between technology and human interaction, ensuring effective and personalised learning.”
