On Tuesday 26 November 2024, starting at 09:30 AM, Inapp, in collaboration with the Giacomo Brodolini Foundation, is organising the event ‘Decent work? Occupational Segregation and Working Conditions of Immigrant Labour’ at the Auditorium.

The event marks the conclusion of the project ‘Analysis and Proposals for Intervention for the Social and Labour Inclusion of Foreign-born People’ PTA 2022-24. During the session, the most significant results of the research activity will be presented, along with the monographic section ‘Undeclared and Underpaid Work of Immigrants’ (edited by Natale Forlani and Antonello Scialdone), which has just been published in issue no. 2/2024 of Economia & Lavoro.

The initiative will feature four sessions in which scholars, representatives of the social partnership, and institutional decision-makers will debate the issues surrounding the exploitation of labour of foreign origin.

The sessions will be introduced by Loriano Bigi, Director General of Inapp, and Rosario Valastro, of the National Coordinating Body for Foreigners’ Integration Policies of the National Economic and Labour Council. Following this, Inapp researchers Maria Parente and Francesco Pomponi will report on the main findings of the project.

The proceedings will continue with a roundtable discussion on regulation perspectives moderated by Antonello Scialdone, manager of Inapp’s Civil Economy and Migration Processes Unit.

The day will conclude with a roundtable discussion on ‘Economics and Immigration. A Comparison between Political Forces’, featuring prominent political figures, moderated by Natale Forlani, President of Inapp.
