The main theme is social science methodology, with a particular focus on the challenges and opportunities created by the evolution of digital technologies, big data, and artificial intelligence. Presenters and participants will explore the epistemological, ethical, and practical issues related to new research methods, data analysis, and their validity, addressing topics ranging from online communities to misinformation and data visualization.
On September 25 Sabina Polidori, researcher at Inapp’s Civil Economy structure, and Ksenija Fonovic from Charles University will co-chair Session 14C, titled: “Social Impacts Evaluation Measurement: What Opportunities for Data Aggregation and Knowledge of the Social Economy and Communities”. The session will explore the evolution of practices for measuring social impacts, focusing on how data aggregation can contribute to a deeper understanding of the social economy and community dynamics. It will address innovative methodologies, ethical considerations, and practical opportunities to connect locally collected data with broader evaluation frameworks, such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Polidori and Fonovic will also present their joint paper: “Measuring Social Impacts in Projects Financed with the Resources of Article 72 of the Third Sector Code: A Potential Vehicle for Transforming Institutional Culture?”
The research examines how impact measurement practices in projects funded by the Italian Ministry of Labour and Social Policies may foster cultural change, not only among Third Sector Organizations but also within public administrations.
