Inapp Report 2024

Inapp Report 2024. Lavoro e formazione. Necessario un cambio di paradigma

Italy has resumed growth, both in terms of output and employment. Inflation, after a recent spike, now appears to be under control, but the macroeconomic outlook remains uncertain due to significant geopolitical instability. The current growth trajectory is hampered by misalignments between business demand and workforce characteristics, between education provision and skills needs, between wages and purchasing power, between male and female employment, and between the active and inactive population. The course of growth is influenced, more than ever, by the impact of demographic ageing on the working-age population and the sustainability of social spending, as well as by the impact of digital technology on the obsolescence of professions and labour mobility. It will not be enough to recalibrate interventions; a new approach, a new paradigm, will be required. Development will be shaped by the interaction of skills, investments, productivity, and new technologies. In this new context, scientific research must contribute to accurately interpreting changes and formulating proposals capable of addressing the challenges.
