Objective of the journal

The objective of SINAPPSI is to provide a space for reflection and analysis of public policies regarding welfare, education, and more generally all areas that affect the labour market, with the aim to foster knowledge and facilitate strategic choices by decision-makers

To this end, the journal adopts a ‘two-sided’ approach. On the one hand, it welcomes and promotes the analysis of research findings and content, with the understanding that plurality of information and scientific rigour are indispensable to support policy choices effectively. As such, the journal ensures the overall scientific quality of all publications thanks to a scientific supervisory Editorial Board and welcomes external contributions.

On the other hand, in an era characterised by a deluge of data of varying quality from an array of different sources, SINAPPSI seeks to make sense of this abundance and produce useful insights to facilitate policy-making. While data are valuable resources for those who produce them as well as they are significant for the public sector, they should not be regarded as neutral: methodological rigour and a theoretically solid approach are necessary for their correct interpretation, so as to ensure they can inspire well-planned policy-making and orient policy analysis and evaluation in the most accurate way.

The involvement of different social actors is paramount to produce a real impact of science on society. Publishing, sharing and providing access to research findings should therefore be encouraged, with an eye turned to dissemination in different languages and codes.

With this in mind, the journal is published online and in open access, as is in line with the internationally recognised goals of Open Science for barrier-free access to scientific knowledge by the scientific community and citizens. This approach is totally respectful of the principles of transparency, inclusion, fairness, equity and sharing which inform scientific research.

SINAPPSI is ranked in the Anvur list of scientific journals, in the following subject areas: Historical, Philosophical, Pedagogical and Psychological Sciences (11), Economic and Statistical Sciences (13) and Political and Social Sciences (14).
